Hi all,
we are planning a ski trip to Mammoth next year around President%26#39;s Day weekend with two kids ages 5 and 6. The 6 year old can ride lifts by himself and go down most greens and easy blues. The 5 year old is an absolute beginner and may only want to ski for couple hours max per day. Does anyone have experience with the kids ski program there? We are not sure whether we should sign them up for group lessons or all day childcare combos? How%26#39;s the mountain like for kids? DH and I are very experienced skiers and would like to explore the mountain on our own but do not mind taking the 6 year old on a few runs with us. Any input/comment will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The kids%26#39; programs here are reputed to be some of the best in the industry. Last season my then 4 year old took weekly lessons. They have programs for all abilities and attention spans. Your kids will not miss you at all during your ski day. (no affiliation)

Your child will be fine, and forget that you%26#39;re even there. The program is great, especially the group lessons. The mountain has plenty for beginners.
By the way, I recommend the lessons out of Canyon Lodge - so that they have their own lift and it%26#39;s easiest for you to meet for lunch, no matter where you are, on the mountain.
Thanks for all the replies! We have skied all over Tahoe and the Rokies but never been to Mammoth (we are northern California transplants). We are looking for a great mountain where we can take the kids on weekend trips. Very excited.
We are thinking of signing the 5-yr old up for all day ski/childcare combo and the 6-yr old half-day lessons. I am sure we will have more questions as the time gets closer. Thanks again.
