My husband and I are going to Disneyland November 20-Dec 1. We%26#39;re hoping the Laker%26#39;s will have a home game during this time that we can take in... I just don%26#39;t know how to get from our hotel (the Anabella in Anaheim) to the Staples Centre without shelling out a fortune in cab fare. Does anyone have any advice how we can get from Anaheim to the Staples Centre? Your advice is much appreciated!
LA Lakers Game in late November
To get there is easy as you can take a quick taxiride to the Anaheim Train Station and take either amtrak or a metrolink train to Union Station. From there you take the subway 3 stops to 7th/metro and transfer one stop on the blue libe to staples center(sounds more complicated then it actually is)
What time is the game? As the return trip could be more complicated as the last train leaves at 8.45pm Union Station. There is a express bus going from Downtown L.A. to Disneyland, would have to look it up in regards of there schedule
LA Lakers Game in late November
Ok, here is the schedule for the express bus running from Disneyland to Downtown L.A. and back, last bus leaves around midnight, so you will be fine no matter how late the game runs

After closer inspection, the last bus leaves Downtown L.A. around 10pm, so you would have to make sure to get to the busstop around that time
Ok, a few adjustments to my colleague Alex%26#39;s otherwise flawless recommendations:
1. The last train departing from Union Station on Amtrak (amtrak.com) is at 10:10 pm. When you search for evening trains on Amtrak.com, you must specify ';evening'; rather than the default ';anytime';. If you don%26#39;t, Amtrak.com suppresses this last train from the schedule. Still, making a 10:10 train from Union Station would be tough to do since you%26#39;ll need to give yourself about 30 minutes to go from staples to Union Station (It can take 10 minutes just to get out of the stadium, depending on where your seats are). If there%26#39;s a queue for taxis, you%26#39;ll be delayed; if you use the metro, there%26#39;s waiting time for the blue line and then waiting time for the red line. Then you have to find and walk to the train at Union Station. Bottom line: you%26#39;d have to be starting on your way from your seats at 9:30 if you don%26#39;t want to risk missing your train.
2. The #460 bus that Alex lists as an alternative is dubbed a ';Local and express bus';. This bus does travel along the 110 freeway a short while (the %26#39;express%26#39; part) but then makes local stops the rest of the way to Anaheim (the ';local part) which is why the route (which should take about 40 minutes by car) takes 90 minutes. The ';midnight departure'; that Alex refers to is in the NORTHBOUND direction (departing Disneyland at that time and heading for L.A.). The last SOUTHBOUND departure (going TO Anaheim) is around 10:22 pm (the schedule shows a southbound bus at 10:18 at the corner of 5th and Los Angeles St. It should reach Staples at around 10:22. Taking this bus would give you a little more time at the Stadium but frankly, this is an ugly 90-minute bus ride going through some ugly areas and if you miss this bus (or it%26#39;s too crowded to board), you are stuck in L.A. for the night.
3. Which brings me to my last point: Why stay in Anaheim for 10 days? You aren%26#39;t going to be at DL for 10 days, are you? Split your vacation in half and spend part of it in L.A. so, this way, after the game, you can ';walk home'; to your hotel, jump on the metro rail (what Alex likes to call ';the subway';) or grab a short taxi ride to your L.A. hotel.
I%26#39;d go even farther and recommend a 70/30 split, with 30% in Anaheim and the rest somewhere in the LA area-you will ride every ride at least twice with 3 full days at Disneyland, especially in November. You might also check Disneyland%26#39;s schedule-the offseason operating times are frequently restricted from those during the high season, which might help your planning if you do decided to split up your stay.
