Mr Toad's & Alcatraz

I have ticketes for Alcatraz (early bird tour) at 9 am. Do you think it would be possible to do both Mr Toad%26#39;s 3 hr postcard tour and the Alcatraz tour on the same day? The Mr Toad tour is at 2:30. Should I book ahead? I plan to be there 7/25

You would be able to do that easy.

Considering Mr. Toads vehicles only hold a few people it might be best to book ahead.

Mr Toad's %26amp; Alcatraz

When we did the 9am Alcatraz tour, we left the island on the 11:55am boat, so were back on the Embarcadero by about 12:15pm I guess if that%26#39;s of any help in planning. If needed, we could have been off the island much earlier, but we wandered around for quite a bit.

Thanks, that is helpful. I%26#39;m touring the island with my husband and teenagers. I don%26#39;t know how into it the kids are going to be. I will probably book that tour at 2:30.

I am also considering the same thing. We already have Alcatraz tickets for the early bird tour. I was thinking about Mr. Toad%26#39;s tour in the afternoon but wasn%26#39;t sure if we should do the 3 hour tour or the 90 minute tour. Not sure if the 3 hour tour would be too long - especially with a 10 yo.

I think that with the 3 hour tour you get to stop and get off at some places for pictures etc. I%26#39;ve read the reviews and people say that the 3 hour tour flies by. I%26#39;m thinking of doing the Alcatraz tour, going for lunch and then the tour for 3 hours. It will give us a great over view of the city which we probably wouldn%26#39;t have seen. This way we can go back the next day to things that interested us. What is the price difference between the 3 hr and the 90 min tours? I have a 16 yr old and 13 yr old and they probably won%26#39;t be thrilled either.

It%26#39;s $32 vs. $48 between the 2 tours. I%26#39;m more concerned about being ';stuck'; for 3 long hours - Yes, I%26#39;ve read good reviews of it but still....

At the same time, I don%26#39;t want to take a tour and say ';that%26#39;s it?'; and feel ';ripped off.';

I guess you could wait until that day and see how your child is. I just booked the 3 hr tour. So I%26#39;m doing Alcatraz at 9 and then Mr Toad%26#39;s at 2:30. I feel a 90 minute wouldn%26#39;t be enough time. I%26#39;d be like ';that%26#39;s it'; too.

Enjoy your trip. When are you going?

We still have to think about it. There are other things we may try to do also while we%26#39;re in town.

We%26#39;ll be there near the end of August.

We%26#39;re also considering the Wok Wiz tour through Chinatown, Giants game, trip out to Sausalito, etc.

I know there is so much to do. I have about 2 1/2 days there. I want to pack in as much as I can. I just hope the fires subside by then.
