I am heading to Napa/Sonoma area for a week in mid-July and there are so many wineries that offer pairings and tours that are $$$. If you were to pick one to splurge on what where would it be?!? Thanks in advance...
Napa/Sonoma Winery Worth Doing a Tasting/Food/Tour PairingJarvis - you need reservations, too. Don%26#39;t want to say too much about it since part of the charm is the ';surprise';.
Napa/Sonoma Winery Worth Doing a Tasting/Food/Tour PairingShould I choose between jarvis and del dotto or do both? Also, for the sparkling wines is Schramsberg worth it or is Domaine Carneros/Domaine Chandon good alternatives?
We just got back and did Schramsberg and Del Dotto and loved them both. We went to the new Del Dotto and while it was a little gaudy looking, the actual tour and wine tasting was worth every penny - we loved it! The restaurant Tra Vigne is a must for dinner, ask to be seated outside!
Schramsberg is a great tour and very informative. This year Del Dotto%26#39;s Napa cave tour was fun, informative, and a little less boozy than than two years ago. They are trying to tone down the %26#39;blotto%26#39;. Do not go to the St Helena site, it%26#39;s to over the top and gaudy (IMHO).
Some other spots to check out
Robert Sinskey
Peju
Buehler
Vincent Arroyo
Chateau Montelena
Chateau Potelle
Regusci
Pine Ridge
Arger-Martucci
Miner
Are there any wineries that offer wine %26amp; food pairings WITHOUT a full tour? I saw on the St Clement website you can add a cheese or chocolate pairing, but don%26#39;t know of any others.
