restaurants 4th July weekend

Our extended family of 11 is staying at Paradise Point over 4th of July weekend. We are looking for good restaurants close by to avoid traffic. Should I be making reservations now? How about a nice restaurant for 6 adults celebrating my sister%26#39;s birthday?

thanks in advance!

Most of the traffic will be right there by Paradise Point as it is by the beach. Away from the beach there should be less traffic. IF you want somewhere for 11 people then you should definitely make reservations as that is a very large group!!!

Can I assume that some of the 11 are children??

Please tell us what you would consider a ';good';restaurant-type of food-price for main entree -etc.

Also tell us what you think your sister would like for a ';nice'; restaurant. You would be surprised to find how different people use these words.

I have not eaten at Paradise Point but perhaps their restaurant is decent. I have eaten at the restaurant at the Hilton Mission Bay Resort and though the food was good there. I mention hotel restaurants as they will have no trouble with a large group if told in advance. Let us know a little more and we will find it easier to give recs.

Does you birthday dinner fall on the 4th? Traffic will probably be heavier that evening with people heading to firework displays, otherwise venturing a bit further than the immediate area shouldn%26#39;t be too bad.

What type of food and atmosphere, view?

The Dana Inn has a fairly new restaurant called The Firefly鈥ot far from your hotel.

Another one is the new one at the Hyatt, Red Marlin鈥ot a real good review recently.

Otherwise, just drive south on Ingraham and you be in the land of chain restaurants, on Sports Arena Blvd.

Probably the highest priority would be a quiet restaurant good for visiting! The youngest is 9. We enjoy steaks, seafood, italian, mexican. A view would be great! $20-30/dinner range.

We%26#39;ve eaten at Baleen at the resort and would like to try somewhere else.

Then I think the Red Marlin would be a good choice. The menu has a bit of everything and the view is quite nice.
