Any tips on visiting Disneyland?

My husband and I are going to be in Newport in late July so decided since we%26#39;re that close we really ought to go see what%26#39;s happened to Disneyland since we were there with our kids 30 years ago. We have booked a motel across the street, and we are reading a Disneyland guide book, but from our experience tripadvisor members are the best source around! Where do we want to go first? Anything we want to avoid? What about eating, are there some eateries that are better than others? Do you need reservations for the Golden Horseshoe show? Please share your experience there and tell us how to get the most out of our days there. We are planning on getting 2-day passes and spending Friday, Aug 1, in Disneyland and Saturday in California Adventure.

You have posted your question in the LOS ANGELES Forum.

Let me recommend that you post your question about Disneyland in the ANAHEIM Forum. DL is not in the city (nor county) of Los Angeles. It%26#39;s 40 to 60 minutes (depending on traffic) southeast of the EASTERN EDGE of the sprawling city of Los Angeles.

You should post in the Anaheim section of the forum as Disneyland is not located in Los Angeles. The local expert over there, Darkbeer, knows everything about Disneyland and sure will help you out with all your questions

I might add that you should make reservations for Blue Bayou restaurant inside the pirates of the carribean ride. A truely unique and fantastic experience

We also love the Blue Bayou, our lunch at the New Orleans Cafe this past Dec. was very good, also. At the Grand Californian Hotel, Napa Rose was very nice for a meal after spending a full day in the park. :)
