Decent hotel for 1 night stay near airport?

Our family of 5 (3 daughters ages 11, 9, and 7) are visiting San Diego tomorrow, 7/2 through Sunday, 7/6. Staying at the Homewood Suites at Liberty Station. Then, we%26#39;re then headed to Anaheim (Disney) through Tues., 7/8. Our flight home is Weds., 7/9 about 12:30pm.

Because we%26#39;ll just be driving back from Anaheim later on Tuesday, we%26#39;d like somewhere to just crash for the night. We have a reservation at the Homewood Suites for that night, too, but wondered if there is somewhere a little less expensive, but still decent, near the airport that we could try instead?

On another note...can anyone recommend any neat places to stop on our way back to San Diego from Anaheim on Tuesday, 7/8? Any interesting beaches and/or towns?

The airport is only 3miles from downtown so there are lots of hotels BUT not all can accomodate 5 people in a room. You might try the Holiday Inn BAYSIDE-- NOT the Holiday Inn ON THE BAYwhichi is more expensive. Perhaps also the Doubletree Downtown.
