Hi all~
We are driving up from San Francisco and staying in Napa, but would love to stop in Sonoma for the day. What are your ';must see'; wineries? Should I make reservations or just wing it?
Thank you!!
Sonoma for a day
In Napa, don%26#39;t miss Domaine Carneros, Nicholoson Ranch and Artesa, right in Sonoma proper we like Sebastiani, Ravenswood, Buena Vista, Gundlach-Bundscu and Bartholomew Park.
If you venture out of Sonoma to Glen Ellen and Kenwood, make stops at BR Cohn, Ledson, Kenwood, Imagery and Blackstone. Have fun! :)
Sonoma for a day
Becky--there are many, many great winery recommendations and descriptions that have been posted on the Sonoma Forum, so be sure to research and read them (';trip reports'; will include lots of excellent suggestions). If you%26#39;ll be visiting on a weekend, esp. during the summer, advance reservations for tours and special tastings (e.g. reserve tastings and food and wine pairings) are usually necessary. For the standard ';walk up to the tasting bar'; tastings, no reservations are needed (or taken unless its a large group). Try to get to Sonoma as early as possible as afternoons can get very busy.
I agree with syrahgirl, you%26#39;ll find the best options on Highway 12 between Sonoma and Santa Rosa.
