When are you coming? Right now, much of California is on fire, including Big Sur along the coastal route.

Santa Barbara is only an hour north of LA. Stop and visit, but continue up to Pismo Beach or Cambria for your first and then Carmel/Monterey/Pacific Grove for your second night.

I like the Yosemite suggestion, but it%26#39;s a bit out of your way for what you%26#39;re planning.

Merci for your suggestions

Dates are 14 and 15 July

I heard about fires but did not realize they are in such a huge surface ! What a shame for the population there. I know for experience, in Portugal, fires is such a disaster in summer.

So Yosemite, we are planning to stay after SF in our route to Vegas.

I%26#39;m interested in Pismo Beach for the 1st (and only stopping in Santa Barbara without a night there)

I will look for a very romantique hotel there, would you suggest a place ?

and booked in Monterey (we found a very nice place to stay but cannot remmemeber the name !)

Merci

Many romantics enjoy staying at the Sea Venture Resort in Pismo Beach. It%26#39;s right on the beach and they have jacuzzi tubs on the deck of each room. The restaurant there is very nice, too and overlooks the beach and pier.... especially pretty at sunset.

Another option is the Dolphin Bay Inn. Some of the Hollywood elite have stayed there while visiting the local film festival in San Luis Obispo. This hotel sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean with views toward Avila Beach and the San Luis Bay lighthouse.

If you can handle romantic without a view, the Avila La Fonda Hotel in Avila Beach has very nice and romantic rooms with jacuzzi tubs inside the room. The rooms here have many amenities and this place gets good reviews.

If these choices are booked, your next best options would be the Cottage Inn or The Cliffs Hotel.

Let me know if there%26#39;s anything else I can help you with.

**** BTW *** Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort (on the road to Avila Beach) has natural mineral springs tubs you can rent by the hour. It%26#39;s clothing optional. ;-)

Waouhhh

I can not wait !!!!

What a wonderful options you suggested, many many thanks !

I sure will provide full report of our trip when we come back in August ;)

I read bad reviews on Sea venture resort, I%26#39;ll look for the Dolphin perhaps and have a very close look at the Sycamore ;)

Many thank and if you need romantic Parisian advise, do not hesitate ;)

ps : I personaly think that the dumpiest place in the world is the best if shared with the right %26amp; loved one !

But why doing without great places ? Ah l%26#39;amour !

Btw, we are staying in the Hotel Pacific in Monterey, good reviews, looks so nice§

The Hotel Pacific in Monterey looks very nice. It kind of reminded me of the Avila La Fonda hotel a little bit.

I hope you have a great time in California. Let us know if we can answer any more questions for you.
