We have not been to Catalina. We are going on a John Mayer cruise and it leaves from San Pedro. We decided that since we will be there, we should extend our trip with a few days on Catalina. We are considering Hamilton Cove. Are there any restaurants/bars in the general area and do you recommend that Hamilton%26#39;s Cove? The pictures of it look beautiful. I%26#39;m sure I will have a million other questions before we go in March. Thanks
A few questions..All of the rentals in Hamilton Cove come with use of a private golf cart to get in and out of town. Try Catalina Island vacation rentals or Hamilton Cove real estate websites for a list of individual rentals.
A few questions..Hamilton Cove is far from town. Check out the Pavilion Lodge right on Crescent Ave. in the middle of town. It has a large grass area and patio with lounges for a nice respite. All the bars and restaurants are steps away, including the beach and pier. Nice to stroll around at night.
Check out the photos at the bottom of the site.

Thank you for your responses. I just checked out Pavilion Lodge and that might be an option. Another question, if you don%26#39;t mind. We really love the look of Hamilton Cove and wondering how much of an inconvenience it would be driving back and forth for lunch and dinner. How long sill the ride be?
Hamilton Cove is about 1 mile past the Casino. You will pass Descanso Beach along the way. It takes about 5+ minutes in the golf cart to get from Hamilton Cove into town. I enjoy the drive and view along the way. Try to google an image of an aerial view to get an idea of the distance.
If you like Hamilton Cove, there is no problem getting into town with the provided golf cart. You will even get to drive past the Casino. I recommend the Casino tour and watching a movie there at night. Golf carts aren%26#39;t allowed in the inter-island, so I also recommend the 4 hour inland tour. I always find the island magical and very relaxing.
We stay in a condo at Hamilton Cove whenever we go over to Catalina. You have access to a goft cart through the rental. It%26#39;s a short drive. We have walked it many times. Hamilton Cove is quiet and has a guarded gate. We like being able to get away from the crowds, especially in the summer. March will not be as crowded.
All of the restaurants are in town. We loved Cafe Prego but they have closed shop. Try The Country Club at the golf course. Antonio%26#39;s is fun! Villa Portofino is also pretty good. Since you have the condo, you will have more flexibility about meals. We often barbecue at the condo and enjoy the ocean views.
We prefer building 11. Building 10 has some wonderful units and an elevator. Both www.hamiltoncove.com and www.catalinavacationrentals.com have units all over Hamilton Cove.
Thanks Guys, for your helpful responses. We have plenty of time and still up in the air on where we want to be. Hamilton Cove looks very interesting, bu the idea of being in town is also a plus. We will be getting off a cruise ship and probably will want to relax and have fun before going home. I must admit we do like to eat and bar hop.
