Help with itinerary planning

I%26#39;m arriving in Lax on ago 8 at 18.00 and departing on ago 18 at 18.30 from Lax.

So, first night in Lax, the next day to Valencia for six flags magic mountain, then wanted to visit Death valley national park, Vegas, and Monument valley and maybe back to lax so to stay the last 2 days there.

Can someone help my to plan an itinerary, where to stop for night...what to see..

I%26#39;m really getting mad with distances, driving times, time i need for site seeing ecc.

I%26#39;m travelling alone so don%26#39;t wanted to drive too many miles a day.

thanks in advance!

Help with itinerary planning

Hi

Monument Valley will be far away esp. if you don%26#39;t want to drive too many miles. Have you thought about visiting Grand Canyon NP?

Well maybe try this:

8/8: Arrival Los Angeles

8/9: Six Flags

8/10: Drive from Valencia to Death Valley. This app.will be a 5 hours drive and in august DV will be extremely hot. You can find accomodation at the www.xanterra.com site. Best places to stay are at Stove Pipe Wells village and Furnace Creek Ranch.

8/11: Visit to Death Valley NP and the drive to Las Vegas

8/12: Las Vegas

8/13: Las Vegas-GCNP

8/14: GCNP and to Sedona late in the afternoon

8/15: Sedona

8/16: Sedona-Los Angeles (This will be a 8-9 hours trip so maybe split the drive)

8/17: Los Angeles

8/18: Los Angeles and home.

If your Monument Valley visit it set in stone maybe try this:

Skip Death Valley and drive:

8/10: Los Angeles-Las Vegas

8/11: Las Vegas

8/12: Las Vegas-Zion NP. Visit to Zion

8/13: Zion NP-Page. Visit Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend overlook and Glen Canyon Dam.

8/14: Page to Monument Valley. Rest of the day in MV

8/15: Monument Valley-GCNP.

8/16: GCNP

8/17: GCNP-Los Angeles (also app. 8-9 hours)

8/18: Home.

There are countless options. If you want to stay 3 days in LA total you%26#39;ll only have 7 days for the rest of your stay. It%26#39;s up to you of course.

It%26#39;s hard to plan a first time visit so don%26#39;t hesitate to ask more questions. In presume ago means august.

Hoi Tet

Can you please give me also the other chance going to death valley and passing trough grand canyon and going to monument and back to La, maybe I%26#39;m not travelling alone so could afford more miles

Wich places are really a must see? Have been to a two days tour to the grand canyon as I was a child.. so don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s worst to visit again or pass trough and see another place like the death valley

I know that ten days aren%26#39;t really that much to see all but...

ops saw you already answered one of my questions, sorry for asking again

Hi Roadster.

It%26#39;s none of my business and I hope you don%26#39;t mind me saying, but have you considered to visit Death Valley, then drive to Lone Pine, along us395 to great Mono Lake, maybe visit Bodie Ghosttown north of Lee Vining, take Tioga Pass to Yosemite NP. See Yosemite NP and drive back to LA via Sequoia/Kings canyon NP? Or drive from Yosemite to San Francisco and drive back to LA along the coast? Less driving and less hot and awesome!

Just a thought...

I don%26#39;t want you keep away from Monument Valley at all, it%26#39;s a great place but it requires a long drive from Death Valley.

DVNP is one of my favorite places on earth and I would recommend to stay at least one full day but count on 120F and too hot for walking to me. We only have been off season like in april, mei, september/november.

Tet

All suggestions are welcome! no worries

Well and if I skip death valley so to reach easier the monument valley?

I know that it looks like I don%26#39;t know what I want to see...

but prefer desert%26#39;s, little towns and amazing views insted of the drive along the cost.

Have been in Dubai 2 years ago in summer so guess I can face the desert LOL

What about a daytrip from vegas to the death valley?

It%26#39;s possible to make a (long day) trip to Death Valley form Las Vegas (app. 2.5 hours one way) but you%26#39;ll miss sunset/sunrise and colors are stunning then so imo better to stay overnight.

Tet

I could leave death valley after the sunset and back to vegas...

dunno yet what to do

I would not do that. Don%26#39;t drive in the dark if you don%26#39;t have to and dark is dark here. Be careful with wildlife on the road. We never drive between dusk and dawn on unknown roads.

What about this:

08/08 LA

09/08 LA

10/08 LA

11/08 LA - Vegas

12/08 Vegas

13/08 Vegas

14/08 Vegas - Zion - Bryce

15/08 Bryce - Page

16/08 Page - Monument - Williams

17/08 Williams - LA

18/08 LA flight back at 6.30 pm

Suggestions?
