My husband and I are going to be in Newport in late July so decided since we%26#39;re that close we really ought to go see what%26#39;s happened to Disneyland since we were there with our kids 30 years ago. We have booked a motel across the street, and we are reading a Disneyland guide book, but from our experience tripadvisor members are the best source around! Where do we want to go first? Anything we want to avoid? What about eating, are there some eateries that are better than others? Do you need reservations for the Golden Horseshoe show? Please share your experience there and tell us how to get the most out of our days there. We are planning on getting 2-day passes and spending Friday, Aug 1, in Disneyland and Saturday in California Adventure. I can%26#39;t figure out HOW to bring up the Anaheim forum. It just keeps giving me ';California';. I%26#39;m sorry I%26#39;m in the wrong place but it%26#39;s the best I can do!

to post in the anaheim forum look ABOVE the green strip that says california forum it says ';jump to a more specific forum'; and has a pull down menu to the right that says ';select'; where you can scroll down to anaheim from that list and click on it.
im sure you will get alot more responses.

late July means big crowds, the most important things to do are to go early, get to the park 1/2 hour before it opens, and to work the fast passes. Get a fast pass as soon as you enter and note the time when the next one can be had. If you go early you can knock off most the good rides before the crowds roll in. Always put getting your next fast pass as the primary priority, don%26#39;t worry about using them you got all day. After about 11 the huge crowds roll in and the fastpasses will be gone. It gets hot in the afternoon so it is best just to take a break instead of standing in the huge lines. Evenings it is best to watch the parades and fireworks and not worry about rides.
Cal adventure usally opens 2 hours after disneyland so with hoppers you have the opportunity to go to disneyland and hit a few good rides before it opens. If its been 30 years do not miss Soarin over California and Tower of Terror.
