Hotel on beach or within close walking

I will be flying into LAX 9/11 - 9/15 for the Ohio State/USC game. My brother is staying in Anaheim but I wanted to stay in a beach town - hence Huntington, in addition to being a short drive to laguna. Can someone recommend a decent hotel near/on the beach that won%26#39;t break the bank? Really don%26#39;t want to pay more than $150 night....I may be wishfully thinking, but would love to hear your thoughts.

I stayed at the Best Western in Huntington for a week over the summer. I can highly recommend it. It has decent quality rooms that wont cost a fortune and a location that cant be beaten. Directly across the road from the beach and only 4 blocks from main street.
