Getting Around San Diego without a car

We are going to travel by Amtrak from Anaheim to San Diego.

We are going to stay in Pacific Beach and understand that we can take bus #30 to the Sante Fe Depot.

From there we are interested in taking a 2 hour harbour cruise, visiting Seaport Village, Horton Plaza and Gaslamp Quarter and going over to Coronado and then ending at the Sante Fe Depot.

Would we be able to walk to Seaport Village, Horton Plaza, the dock which the hornblower departs and the dock which the Coronado ferry departs or is it worth it to take the Old Town Trolley tour?

Walking to all those places is doable if you are in good condition. I estimate that the walk from the SF train depot to the harbor cruise dock and ferry dock is about 5 min. From the docks to Seaport Village between 10-15 min. From Seaport Village to the Gaslamp another 10-15 min. From there to Horton Plaza another 15 min. From Horton Plaza to the train depot 10 minutes. It is flat and an easy walk. I do this walking loop quite often.

You can definitely walk from the depot to all the places mentioned. The 2 docks are next to each other.

the reason to take the trolley tour would be IF you wanted to also see Balboa Park(www.balboapark.org)the zoo,old town , etc. ALSO when you arrive in Coronado IF you want to go to the beach and/or the Hotel Del there%26#39;s another walk OR bus ride involved. The trolley tour would drop you off right there.
