Sacramento to Leggett to Crescent City Today

We are landing today (Monday) at around 11:30 am and want to get from Sacramento%26#39;s airport to Leggett and go up 101 to arrive in Crescent City by this evening.

I%26#39;ve seen road closures, delays, etc. due to fires and construction but am not sure of the latest information for roads such as CA-20 and 299. We want the fastest way if possible. Is going down via 80 by the bay area still the best way at this time or would an alternative work today better/quicker.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sacramento to Leggett to Crescent City Today

I guess 299 would not get us to Leggett from Sacramento. So it is either I5 to ca-20 or 80 over to the bay area and then up 101 from there. Has anyone driven through ca-20 lately where the construction is? Just wondering if the delays are bad?
