Hotel suggestion required

Us: Myself and my husband, from Canada plus

my parents who are visiting from Australia.

Current Itinerary: Arrive LA Tue Aug 26, drive to Las Vegas. Spend 3 nights there. Drive to LA on Fri Aug 29.

Parents will be departing from LAX at 10pm on Mon Sep 1. My husband and I depart from LA at 10am on Tue Sep 2.

Trying to decide where to spend the 3/4 nights in LA.

Originally thought of staying near LAX:

- reasonable priced hotels

- central to departure on Mon/Tues

We will have a car.

Plans for the stay:

Fri - arrive LA, check into hotel

Sat - day at beach - Santa Monica/Venice

Sun - Starline LA Grand Tour (get picked up from hotel)

Mon - Downtown Disney (shopping, eating, just to say we went to Disney)

The above can/may be switched.

We would prefer to stay in one location - hence the LAX hotel option. But it may make sense to stay at Anaheim for two nights, then LAX for two nights (just realised this would work better)

Amended plans for the stay:

Fri - arrive Anaheim, check into hotel, Downtown Disney

Sat - Starline LA Grand Tour (get picked up from hotel)

Sun - check out of hotel - check in to new hotel - Santa Monica for dinner

Mon - day at beach - Venice??

Room budget per night is $250 total - we would need two rooms or separate sleeping areas for the two couples.

Realise it is Labor Day weekend - but can still see some fair priced hotels.

Any suggestions for where to stay to make the most of our planned itinerary? Also any further suggestions on things to do, or places to go would be appreciated! Thank-you!

If you want to stay at one place i think either Hollywood or West Hollywood would fit your bill just fine. You can easily do a daytripp from either location to Disneyland just for the day

You won%26#39;t find anything in Santa Monica in that budget (that%26#39;s $125 per room), and will be hard pressed to find anything in West Hollywood, but you should try for an all suite hotel. Look into Orchid Suites or Hollywood Celebrity, both in Hollywood. West Hollywood has several suite hotels, just search here under West Hollywood Hotels.

If you can increase your hotel budget a little bit, hotwire.com has:

';3.5-star hotel in Santa Monica - Marina Del Rey'; for $142

Hotwire does not disclose the name of their offerings until you provide credit card info and agree to pay but it is ALMOST CERTAIN that this anonymous hotel is, in fact, the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica

Good luck!

Anaheim is a very bad idea...that is a holiday weekend, fighting the crowds just to shop and dine is very bad planning indeed. In fact, that Friday is a very bad day to be traveling from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, so leave Las Vegas around 8am if you%26#39;re smart. Traffic all around Los Angeles will be hell after 1pm.

The Jolly Roger in Marina del Rey is the only place I can think of that will fit your budget and put you near the beaches. LAX hotels are probably your only other choice but the Marina is less than 10 minutes drive to LAX and much more pleasant.
