We arrive in LA at 3pm and fly out of LAX at 9 the next morning. Where should we stay?
Are we better off staying close to LAX and taking a cab to and from something fun to make the morning commute easier? Thanks
LA 1 night
My first choice is always the inn at Playa del Rey. it%26#39;s a lovely hotel, 5 minutes form LAX ( under $20 by taxi) and you can walk to the beach. Great breakfast, free bikes, lots of restaurants nearby. And it%26#39;s a beautiful place, right on a marsh with the marina in the background. Excellent service from a smiling and friendly staff.
Otherwise, staying somewhere in Santa Monica might be fun if you want something a little more elaborate. Expect a 20-30 minute taxi ride and expect to pay around $30 plus tip.
LA 1 night
Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica. These are all easy commutes to LAX in the morning - no need for a freeway - and have great restaurants and bars.
Santa Monica would probably be your best bet as it is close to LAX but also has some vibrant neighbourhoods with lots of great bars and restaurants you can walk to

Easy shuttle to LAX in the morning (10-12 mins even when traffic is rough) and you can hop a bus or cab easily if you want to go up to santa monica. Also, it%26#39;s much nicer than staying right at the airport
