We will be celebrating our 14th wedding annivarsary while in San Francisco. I would love restaurant suggestions. We had reservations at Michael Mina%26#39;s but I figured we would have spent several hundred on our dinner. I know San Francisco has amazing top notch restaurants and chefs. I look forward to your responses!!!
Special DinnerGary Danko is wonderful--not inexpensive but I think their menu options (you can choose from 3, 4 or 5 courses) are good value for what they offer.
Special DinnerOne of my favorites for a special occasion meal is the Cafe Majestic, (which happens to be inside the Hotel Majestic, which is likewise appropriate for romantic special occasion lodging).

I%26#39;m still high on Spruce.

Prices are right on par with the service and food that will be prepared. And the ambience is very hip. It%26#39;s just plain sexy - though a little loud (as sadly, most of the newer restaurants seem to be).
Foreign Cinema

Fantastic food - memorable experience.

Exquisite Greek Food - wonderful atmosphere;
We loved Aqua - expensive but less so as we are from the UK. Also Frascatti and Restaurante Millanno.
If you trust the Michelin tire guy, there is a guide to SF restaurants with 1 and 2 star ratings. You can%26#39;t go wrong with a 2-star place in SF. And you can reserve any of these on line at opentable.com
I agree with Foreign Cinema, which is one of my favorites, and consistantly good. Gary Danko is too expensive, plus you need to make reservations far in advance, so if you did%26#39;nt like the prices at Minna you definitely won%26#39;t like Danko.
Boulevard is also a good choice, Bacar.
Also take a look at Yelp.com, and put inn San Francisco as the address.
Ciao Mein
We had our special anniversary dinner at Gary Danko %26amp; can%26#39;t say enough about how much we enjoyed it! We were fairly conservative with our other dining options, so it was the one big splurge of our trip. My husband, who I thought would think it was too expensive, thought it was ';so worth it';. We each did 4 courses with wine pairings (%26amp; my husband had an after dinner cordial; Before tip, it was just under $300. As others have said, there are many dining options that would be lovely.
I love opentable.com. Been using it for years. I appreciate everyone%26#39;s suggestions!!! Starting with Sat July 5th and then the subusequent nights we have reservatiions at Andalu, Waterbar, Kokkari Estiatorio, A16, and Franciscian Crab House. We still have not made reservations for our annivarsary. I%26#39;m open to changing the above choices. Thanks again for your advice. We love French food. Any reccomendations?
