Hi all
We%26#39;ll be visiting San Francisco for the first time in the last week of September. I wonder if you could tell me what kind of weather we should expect? We%26#39;re considering a hotel with an outdoor pool but I%26#39;m wondering whether it will be hot/sunny enough for that to be worthwhile.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Weather in September
September has warmer days and the peak warmth is between 11AM and 2PM but is not as foggy at the earlier or latter part of the day, or there is just no fog, in comparison to July and August.
Weather in September
According to Weather.com, September is the average warmest month with the average high being 71掳F and the average low being 56掳F (22掳C 13掳C). Not exactly the best swimming weather. San Francisco is not really a swimming destination. The highest recorded temperature for September is 101掳F back in 1987. September can have warm days. Here are a few other weather facts about San Francisco from the website:
September is the average warmest month.
The highest recorded temperature was 103掳F in 2000.
On average, the coolest month is January.

The maximum average precipitation occurs in January.
Correction:
The highest recorded temperature for September is 101掳F back in 1971 NOT 1987. Sorry.
I know people that swim everyday without heated pools; they swim in the Bay! The hotels w/outdoor heated pools will be fine for you because it%26#39;s rather mild if you swim during the day when there%26#39;s sun. It is just not going to be tropical heat.
