driving highway 1 on New Years Day

Hi i am visiting San Fran after Christmas this year and we were thinking of driving down Highway 1 and the coast road and Big Sur area on New Years Day then on to LA my question is are all the routes and amenities open on this day or do all petrol stations and resturaunts etc be closed?And are the National Parks etc open? Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

All the petrol stations, (known as gas stations here in the U.S.), will be open and many, not all, restaurants and stores will be open. Some national Parks will close, but some will be open. You would have to check on the National Park Service web site to check on specific parks. I%26#39;ve driven on New Years Day from Sonoma County to Los Angeles many times and never had any problem finding services open.
