Hi---I am planning on running the Half Marathon in a few weeks (July 20) with some of my running buddies. We signed up a long time ago and we are planning to drive down from Washington State. We are going to Yosemite too. But I am worried about all the fires in California.
Can anyone tell me if it is smoky around Napa or Sonoma? Thanks.
Is it smoky in Napa/Sonoma?

As of yesterday, blue skies have returned to Napa.
We get fires every year, but never so many at once.
Now that its%26#39; become a national news story, it seems like a lot of folks coming here are concerned (as well they should be).
But it%26#39;s important to note that people have been coming here for *years* in the midst of fire season, and have never worried about it.
Suggestions:
1. Please keep an eye on any additional wild fires that may occur.
2. You can monitor air quality by going to:
www.weather.com/outlook/health/airquality/…
3. Please don%26#39;t be alarmed-- this is a very detailed report. We gave this link to one of our guests and they were shocked to find mentions of little tiny details even though the air quality was ';green'; (the best)-- They were concerned that they would not be able to breathe! So we suggested they check their own city (where the avg air quality rating was much, much worse each day). So it%26#39;s a good idea to check your own city%26#39;s air quality for comparison!
Hoping this helps. :)

That is a big help, thank you! I see Napa is ';green'; (and so is my town, Bellingham Washington). We%26#39;ll keep an eye on things but it looks like we%26#39;ll be OK unless more fires start. I hope they don%26#39;t, for your sake as well as ours.
