We are trying to decide where to go Dec. 27-Jan. 3 with a 18, 20 and 22 year old (our 3 college kids) for a family vacation. How warm will it be in San Diego? Where should we stay? The family enjoys ';adventure'; type vacations. Any suggestions? 22 year old would like to golf at Torrey Pines with mom. Dad likes to snorkel. Offbeat ideas welcomed!
weather week after Christmas with our 3 college kids
Well, it is winter. The weather could be warm and sunny, in the 60s - or it could be raining. Even with rain, it will usually blow through in a day.
As far as snorkeling...the water temps in the Pacific in the winter are cold. 59 degrees or so. You can snorkel, but you%26#39;ll probably want to rent a wet suit.
If you give us an idea of price we can help out with ideas for hotels.

IF you really want warm weather at that time of year you %26#39;ll have to go out to Hawaii or down to Mexico.
Our winters are the time most likely to see rain. The temps can vary from 60s(most likely0 to 70s (if you are lucky) As just mentioned water temps are cold and visibility is not always great BUT the kelp forest at La Jolla Cove is an area where people go.
YOu can hike at Torrey Pines State Park. You can go hang gliding tandem with an instructor at the Torrey Pines Gliderport. You can go out to the desert for hiking as well. There is also sea kayaking and of course the golf you have already mentioned.
