SF to YNP: Grocery Stores?

We will be traveling from SF to Yosemite in a couple of weeks and need a grocery store along the way to purchase some staples. Do you have any recommendations?

SF to YNP: Grocery Stores?

There is a Wal-Mart in Manteca.

If you prefer a regular supermarket, Manteca has a Pak-n-Save.

The closest town of any size on the way from S.F. to Yosemite is Oakdale, and Sonora is a few miles off the main route (but a charming Gold Rush town). Sonora has a Pak-n-Save, and Oakdale has some independent grocers but I can%26#39;t think of any big supermarkets there.

Your best bet is Oakdale. Just before you leave town you will see a Valero gas station on the left, and a Arco gas station on the right. Just behind the Valero station is a new Raley%26#39;s. Very nice grocery store with fresh bakery, deli, sushi and a coffee/smoothy bar. Behind the Arco station is a very nice SavMart with bakery and deli. Either one would have anything you would want. This is a great place to gas up too--- prices go way up from this point on.
