Have been to California 3 times before but have never made it to Tahoe!
Am wondering what the conditions will be like - we are flying into LAX and having a few days in Anaheim (so 8 y-o daughter can do Disney)and Palm Springs and then plan heading up (probably with an overnight stop en route) to Yosemite, then on to Tahoe to arrive around April 14th, before ending up in SFO where we fly back home from.
What will the conditions be like around that time? No idea as yet regarding places to stay or things to do!
Any advice most appreciated!

What kind of conditions are you talking about? Weather, road, rental, hotel? Ski season will still be in spring mode. It%26#39;s not likely that you%26#39;d have much road worry though I know it snowed like mad in 2005 or 2006 over Easter weekend stranding people for hours due to road closured form all the snow.

For places to stay, consider the Marriott Timber Lodge in SLT. A very nice property located right at Heavenly Village. You can walk to the casinos from this property, Harrah%26#39;s and Harvey%26#39;s 19 Kitchen are great places to dine with panoramic views of the lake. Have fun! :)
Thanks guys, sorry I perhaps should have been more specific, I guess I was meaning weather conditions mainly and the general ambience of the area at that time of year.
The weather is unpredictable. You could have beautiful, warm spring days or you could have one of those late storms that Suzie mentioned.
Unless the skiing is unusually good, things will be slowing down for the season. The general ambiance should be really pleasant. You should have good luck with finding accomodations and restaurants won%26#39;t be as packed as mid-season.
Do check road conditions before you leave Southern California. The drive up 395 can be abysmal. You%26#39;ll want to check which passes into Yosemite are open before you proceed.
Enjoy your trip! April is a good time to visit Palm Springs and Disneyland. You%26#39;ll miss the worst of the heat and crowds.
