Sequoia Backpack in early October

5 of us will be backpacking the first week in October. We will fly to LAX then drive. We are planning to stay at Three Rivers, Comfort Inn then start the next morning at Wolverton trailhead.

Any advice about what to expect as far as temperature/precipitation, etc is appreciated.

It shouldn%26#39;t be too bad during the day (right now it%26#39;s getting up to the mid 60%26#39;s to low 70%26#39;s), but definitely be prepared for cold nighttime temperatures, especially if you are heading up into the high country. The seasonal average lists 38 degrees as the low for October.

As for percipitation, we don%26#39;t usually get a whole lot of rain in October, but anything is possible.
