2 day itinerary for my parents..
Hi there! For fine restaurants, check out Evan%26#39;s Gourmet Cafe, Cafe Fiore and Harvey%26#39;s 19 Kitchen. We dined at all of these places and ofund hte food, ambiance and service to be of the highest quality. There is the Windjammer II sunset cruise which is very relaxing and the MS Dixie II cruise that leaves from Zephyr Cove, either one of these or both would be a nice way to relax and get out on the water at this gorgeous area of CA. Have fun! :)
2 day itinerary for my parents..
What time of year will this be? Have they identified their lodging location?
Its between the marriotts or the hyatt. They are going in 2 weeks.
thanks!
Oh that will be very nice. I%26#39;ve been trying to get a room at the Hyatt for a weekend this month but it%26#39;s so expensive. Also for my weekend the only Marriott that had room was the Grand. Couldn%26#39;t get into the Timber Lodge. Maybe if your parents are oging during the week you might have better luck.
If they stay at the Hyatt then the fine dining could be Soule Domain which is terrific. Since it will be dark at dinner a lake view is not essential so the fact that Suole Domain has no view will not be an issue. The ambiance of Soule Domaine is nice and very cottagey.
They may not want to have dinner at Lone Eagle Grill if they have breakfast or lunch there so maybe soemwhere else in Incline like Big Water Grille

For Lake Cruises they can drive to Zephyr Cove and take the MS Dixie or they can try the Blue Wave out of the Tahoe Keys Marina. The Blue Wave is a smaller boat. The Ms Dixie and Tahoe Queen are larger mulitstory sternwheeler boats. They all tour Emerald BAy.
I%26#39;ve taken the Woodwind II and it would have to be kind of warm and calm at the end of Sept when they go, otherwise they should dress warmly for a sail out of South Lake Tahoe.
Just got back from a wonderful week at South Lake Tahoe (SLT). If they have a car I%26#39;d suggest driving from SLT to Emerald Bay just for the scenery. If the weather is warm and they like to party just-a-little, have lunch at Camp Richardson%26#39;s Beacon Bar and Grill or The Fresh Ketch at Tahoe Keys. They may enjoy taking the gondola at Heavenly Valley up the mountain and have lunch.
If it%26#39;s still open, go to Tallac Historic Site near Fallen Leaf Lake Rd. and visit the Baldwin Mansion and the Pope-Tellis Mansion (take the tour--- 1 1/4 hrs %26amp; $5 each--- a real steal). We really enjoyed it. It%26#39;s operated by the USFS.
Evans Gourmet is one of the best meals we%26#39;ve had in a long time.
They would enjoy one of the river boat rides.
Kent
I%26#39;m glad you enjoyed SLT and Evan%26#39;s Gourmet Cafe! :)
