Christmas Decorations @ Disneyland

Hi - Does anyone know when they decorate the parks for Christmas? Also, when they take down the Halloween decorations ? I am planning to take my 3 year old daughter for her first trip either Nov 2, 9 or 16th and it would be so great if the holiday decorations (Halloween or Christmas) were up as an added bonus.

Thanks so much for your help!

Disney%26#39;s new Halloween TIme is scheduled from September 29th thru October 21st.

Disney%26#39;s Christmas season starts Friday, November 10th, when all the decorations will be up, along with ';it%26#39;s a small world holiday'; and the nightly Fireworks. The Christmas Parade starts on Friday, November 17th.

Thanks for the info Darkbeer! I think I will book for 11/17 so she can see the parade!

Another quick question (if I may). Does the D-land hotel group ever have special rates (hotel only)? My husband works for the stores, so entrance to the parks is free already for us. Being a local I have never had to book the hotel, but since we are going with the kidlet, thought it would be best to stay a few nights. Want to make the most of my money, but if the rates do not change from the seasonal rates on the website, I may just book now in order to ensure I get my dates.

Thanks so much, in advance for your help with this!

First Off.. OOPS!!!

Halloween Time ends on Halloween, October 31st....

And as for hotel deals, I would go check out MouseSavers.com, a great website that tracks all the special rates for the Disney hotels, along with some off-property places.

Awesome Darkbeer. Thanks for the great tip!

Does anyone know when the decoratiosn will be up this year? (2008)?

Thanks

Halloween Time ends on November 2nd, 2008.

Christmas Celebrations start Friday, November 21st.

So the period inbetween will have the removal of the Halloween decorations, and then the installation of the Christmas ones.

So the period between the 2 dates will have no special entertainment offerings. (one exception, Haunted Mansion Holiday will be offered).

In fact the Parade of Dreams last day is November 11th, and no parade at Disneyland will be offered until November 21st. But as a substitute, Fantasmic! will be offered daily, even the slow weekdays.

Anyone know when they come down (approx.)?

The last official day of Christmas is Sunday, January 4th, 2009. But the week of January 5th is expected to be very busy, as many students don%26#39;t go back to school until January 12th, so some of the decorations will remain up,

And Disney normally doesn%26#39;t close ';it%26#39;s a small world holiday'; until they remove the holiday overlay from the Haunted Mansion, so you will have that part of the park still with some Christmas decorations until late January.

We are going to be in Disney Nov 7-11. So, I guess we will miss any decorations. Does anyone know if anything special will be on at that time? Also, anyone have any info on Desert Palms Inn %26amp; Suites.....we have it booked for that weekend. How close is it to the maingates? We would like to be able to walk...... I was also looking at the Residence Inn by Maingate Anaheim.....a little more $, but better reviews.....any opinions anyone? Thanks!!

November 11th is Veteran%26#39;s Day in the US, and will be a holiday weekend for many folks (4 days).

In the past, it has reached sold out status, but that was when they started the Christmas events earlier. Disney specifically moved back the start of the Chirstmas season to prevent the very large crowds that was a combination of the Holiday weekend and the locals coming to check out the decorations.

Alas, you will be in ';middle'; of the changing from Halloween to Christmas, so not much to see, and no extra entertainment. The Parade of Dreams will be offered daily (November 11th is the last day until 2009), as will Fantasmic! (normally only offered on weekends, and November 7th is the first day Fantasmic! returns since early September, so you might find a lot of locals watching the first night).
