hotels in carmel

Hi any hotels you can recommend in Carmel with ocean views, or on ocean front.

Thanks,

Hi Sharon. There is no oceanfront hotel in Carmel. There are some with views-- La Playa Hotel, Seaview Inn--but you can get better views elsewhere. Tickle Pink Inn in the Carmel Highlands is situated high on a hill overlooking the ocean, so the views are from up high, but beautiful. The Highlands are about 5 minutes south of Carmel, so not near town. It%26#39;s pricey, but check it out. Also, Pacific Grove has two nice B%26amp;Bs with amazing views--the water is just across the street: Green Gables and Seven Gables Inns. Monterey Plaza Hotel and the new Intercontinental, on opposite ends of Cannery Row, are both on the water. A less expensive option is Monterey Beach Resort, about 5 minutes north of Monterey. It%26#39;s the only hotel directly on the beach, so you really get the crashing waves, etc.

Hi what is the best western carmel bay or trade winds inn like please?

Generally speaking, Tradewinds gets good reviews. BW, pretty good reviews. If I were choosing between the two, I%26#39;d probably go with Tradewinds. Have you read all the review here on trip advisor?

We had an oceanview room at La Playa, it is a nice historic property with pretty gardens and grounds. We have also stayed several times at the Highland%26#39;s Inn and twice at the Tickle Pink Inn, our last stay was this past May. The views are stunning from both of these properties. Any questions on either of these places, feel free to ask.

If you want a truly oceanfront property, consider the Best Western Beach Resort in nearby Monterey. The location is about 5 minutes from downtown, it%26#39;s great to be right on the beach. Have fun! :)

We were deciding between the Tradewinds and the Tickle Pink Inn for our stay this past May, I chose the TPI for the many nice amenities: wine and cheese reception, terraced hot tub outdoors, robes, truffles and champagne upon arrival, extensive breakfast buffet and intimate ambiance. The beds at TPI are also very comfy. The Tradewinds has an Asian flair to it, I know that it has been featured in Architectural Digest. :)

The Tickle Pink is, by far, the best of the places mentioned. We have stayed at the Tradewinds and I wouldn%26#39;t compare the two. We felt it was overpriced and the rooms were small, but nicely appointed. Front desk had a care less attitude. Perhaps, this has changed, since it has been a couple of years ago. The TP would not disappoint you. The only real advantage of the TW is that it is located right downtown. The TP is 4 miles south.

we really wanted to stay in Carmel - are there any inns you could recommend instead of hotels.

The Lobos Lodge gets good reviews and is reasonably priced for Carmel. The location couldn%26#39;t be better, right downtown, close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. I can%26#39;t speak about it personally as I haven%26#39;t stayed there, but walked by it many times.

If price is not an obstacle, consider L%26#39;Auberge Carmel: http://www.laubergecarmel.com/

If you like B%26amp;Bs, consider: Vagabond%26#39;s House Inn, Carmel Wayfarer Inn, and check the website for Inns by the Sea.

Check out the Cypress Inn, it is in a great location and owned by Doris Day. There is also the Tally Ho Inn that has oceanviews, I have some photos posted on this site when we toured the property this past May, the newly remodeled rooms are very spacious and nicely done. :)
