I have one day/night in LA (Saturday late September). What are the musts that are achievable in such a short time. Thanks.
One Day in LAI stayed in Santa Monica for 2 nights this summer and was tired of driving so I took a tour with LA Amazing Tours and went to Hollywood, Rodeo Drive and the most famous parts of LA. I liked staying in Santa Monica, near the Promenade and the Pier, many restaurants and nice walking by the sea.
One Day in LADepends on where your staying and transportation. As you may have heard us Californians love our cars........
I agree with the above post. Where are you staying? LA is HUGE and if you only have one day, you%26#39;ll want to see things in your area.
I was there for the first time in April for 5 days and feel like I only scratched the surface of the ';sights to see';.
To be honest I haven%26#39;t organised my hotel yet and was going to base that on these posts. Will have a hire car though! Happy for the experts to advise on hotel choices too. Not a large budget though ($100-120).
I would start with the one thing you want to see the most in LA ie: Hollywood , the beach , disneyland ect. and build around that. LA traffic alone will prohibit you from traveling to far.
I agree with the suggestion about taking a city tour that will give you a good overview, then looking further at what interests you most.
What are your interests? Do you know anything about L.A. beyond the Hollywood and beach media images? Do you care?
I think the city tour sounds a good idea - how long do they normally take. I would like to go to universal - are both of these achieveable in one day. Then also based on that - what areas should I be looking at with regard to hotels.
You can pack a lot into a Saturday if you plan well and stick to a schedule....but what time do you arrive and what time do you depart? Are you driving onward to somewhere else or are you heading back to LAX (what time is the departure?)
Usually the city tour takes about 4 hours. There is usually a morning and an afternoon tour. You could do the morning tour, then go to Universal for the afternoon and evening.
