Family Trip - Fisherman's Wharf or Westin Market Street

The choice between Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf and Union Square appears to be a constant dilemma. Union Square generally gets the nod, but on my trip with my family, we plan on going to Alcatraz, Aquarium on Pier 39, and Biking across the Golden Gate bridge, as well as a 49ers game. Open for other fun family suggestions. We were thinking about using points for a stay at the Sheraton Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf, but the Westin Market Street has great rates that weekend. I am up in the air, and could use some guidance between the two hotels, as well as the two locations based on our itinerary.

Thanks.

Family Trip - Fisherman's Wharf or Westin Market Street

The Sheraton Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf is probably more geared to a family group (how big is your family, how old are the kids?) and generally closer to the things you indicated you%26#39;re going to see. The Westin is close to the Metreon which has lots to see. Yerba Buena also has family friendly stuff ... including an ice rink if you%26#39;re so inclined. The Westin is a bit more convenient for the express bus to Candlestick.

Getting back and forth from one location to the other is very easy between the cable car and the ';F'; street car.

Well, I%26#39;m being quite decisive here. I guess my advice would be: if the rate is THAT good at the Westin, go with it. Otherwise, opt for the Sheraton.

Another fun sighseeing option is the GoCars (www.gocartours.com).

Have a great trip.
