Napa Valley Balloon Flights in December

I have seen the warnings in other posts about balloon flights being very dependant upon the weather. We would like to take a flight in mid-December this year (to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary), but will have to come quite a long way with a limited time available.

So, what is the likelihood of actually being able to fly on a specific day?

If we extended our trip to allow for one day or the next if day 1 is a washout, what do the odds look like then?

Napa Valley Balloon Flights in December

Balloon flights over the Napa Valley do depend on the weather. December is often very overcast in the early morning, which is when they fly. They wouldn%26#39;t fly if it were windy or socked in fog. It is helpful if you have more than one day, it ups your odds on being able to fly if there are more days available. One option many balloon companies will offer is if it is not good flying weather over the Napa Valley they will drive you about 45 minutes away and fly over a different valley. Check with Balloon companies in advance to see if they give you that option. Some companies will automatically take you to the other valley and some give you the option and don%26#39;t charge you if you decline the drive.
