Itinerary Help! 3 Day Trip from San Diego to L.A.

Hello,

I%26#39;m working on a 3-day trip itinerary in the Southern Cali area and trying to decide where to stay for each day.

Our party will surely spend the first day/night in San Diego. For the 2nd and 3rd day, where would be the best choice? We%26#39;d like to do some light sightseeing mostly in nice, pretty but not TOO crowded beach towns.

I%26#39;m thinking of: Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, and Santa Barbara...to choose 2 places from for the 2nd and 3rd day.

Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks.

Not sure why you want to change hotels so many times in only 3 days. Santa Barbara is several hours north of LA,so not in between San Diego and LA at all.Many people would pick 1 city like San Diego OR LA and then drive to the spots in between without changing hotels.

IF you are coming in summer then all the beach towns will be busy.

IF you must stay in 3 different places I%26#39;d do San Diego(which has many beaches as well)then Huntington Beach or maybe Laguna Beach in Orange County which is the next county north of SD. Lastly I%26#39;d stay in Santa Monica which is actually very much like a city not a little beach town OR Redondo.

Actually, I forgot to mention that we will be driving from San Diego to San Jose and that%26#39;s why I%26#39;m trying to choose 3 best spots to spend each day as we move to the north.

What is your budget per night and when is this trip?

It%26#39;s gonna be around late July - early August. I%26#39;m not so sure about the budget yet, but we%26#39;re quite flexible.
