Elan Hotel or Best Western Sunset Plaza

Getting close to booking for 4 nights in October. These 2 hotels are about the same price, but not sure of the locations. Want to be near some shops/ bars/ restaurants etc. Which would you recommend, (we have a car). Tracey.

The Sunset Plaza is probably a little better for you as you can walk to a lot of shops, bars and restaurants along the sunset strip in west hollywood from that location

I%26#39;d pick the Sunset Plaza because it%26#39;s right at the Sunset Strip, memorable place to stay while on vacation. Elan has the Beverly Center %26amp;amp; The Grove for shopping...but you can get there in a flash from the Sunset Plaza with your car, or on the dash shuttle bus.

There are more bars/clubs near the Sunset Plaza but there is more shopping (the giant BEVERLY CENTER mall) and more varieties of dining (from cheap to expensive) near the Elan.

The two hotels are 5 minutes apart by car (take La Cienega Bl) so you could easily drive between the two areas or simply catch the bus on La Cienega (to avoid the expensive parking fees on the Sunset Strip).

The Elan is more of a boutique-style hotel (only 50 rooms) which is furnished ';a little'; nicer than the Sunset Plaza (also, a fine hotel).

Bottom line, you can%26#39;t really lose, either way.
