I%26#39;m wanting to travel between Anaheim and Orange CT, moneywise, do you think that going from LAX to JFK would be best? Or do you think it would be worthwhile looking for other air port options, like John Wayne to Hartford CT? I%26#39;ve been looking around but there look to be too many options for me to be able to search them all, and I%26#39;m not sure if there%26#39;s a direct route between any of the other air ports...
Which air port do you prefer to use that%26#39;s near Anaheim and has anyone ever done a similar trip?
Thanks,
Best AirportsLook into flying out of Long Beach on Jet Blue - they have several options going to the Northeast at good fares - many direct.
Best AirportsMy list of favorites...
1. Long Beach, same basic distance to Disneyland as John Wayne, much smaller and easy to get to Disneyland (just take the main exit and go east (Wardlow Road that turns into Ball Road), Disneyland will be on your right.
It is one of the homes of Jet Blue and Express Jet, two good low fare airlines, and also has some service from Alaska and a couple of other airlines.
Drawback, it is a slow airport, so only a few flights a day land there, so hard to find flights for most people.
2. John Wayne (aka Santa Ana, Orange County/SNA) - This airport is the same distance as Long Beach, but is busier and has a lot more flight choices.
Drawback, it has flight restrictions, so some airlines, like Southwest limits the amount of discounts and specials to the airport, so you might end up paying more than landing in other SoCal airports.
3. LAX - about 35 miles away, the busiest airport by far, so lots of choices, and lots of transportation choices, including the Disneyland Express Airport Bus.
Drawback - It is a massive airport, and easy to get lost in.
4. Ontario - About the same distance as LAX, but less flights and transportation choices. Nice new large airport, but the traffic to Anaheim from Ontario can be pretty bad. Also, the only recommend choice of transportation is a rental car (Taxi and Shuttle Vans are expensive).
5. Bob Hope (aka Burbank) - about 45 minutes away, the main route, Interstate 5 can be really bad. Not recommend unless you get a really good airfare deal. Another small airport that is easy to get in and out off, also, a rental car is the only good option to get to Disneyland (You could take the train, but that requires good timing and a switch of trains, and you have to carry your own luggage. Great, thanks alot! Now I know which airports are around this area it will be a lot easier to search!
